Desert Estates at Pinnacle Peak (formerly Reata Ranch, and Overlook at the Golf Club Scottsdale) was plan for the 220-acre site southeast of Dynamite Boulevard and 128th Street. The new owner has not announced their plans for this parcel.

The previous developer wanted to develop a modern version of the kind of a dude ranch similar to Rancho Vista Bonita that used to be near Pinnacle Peak and Pima roads. The Reata Ranch concept would blend ritzy and rustic in a no-roughing-it style. The developer describes it as “glamping, ” a mash-up of “glamour camping. ”

Desert Estates at Pinnacle Peak is adjacent to Dynamite Blvd/Rio Verde Rd, and to the North is McDowell Sonoran Preserve land. It’s in the city’s Dynamite Foothills Character Area that calls for preserving the rural character with open space, minimal development impact, low building heights and no street lights to compete with starry skies.

Desert Estates at Pinnacle Peak has views of Fraesfield Mountain, Granite Mountain, Troon Mountain, Pinnacle Peak, and the McDowell Mountains.
