A New Kind of Luxury Development Is Coming to the Scottsdale Airpark

If you have driven through the Scottsdale Airpark lately, you already know it is one of the fastest evolving pockets of North Scottsdale. Now add another distinctive project to the list: a private, gated development built specifically for people who collect cars and want a serious place to store, service, and enjoy them.
The project is called Elite Garages Scottsdale, and it comes from Platinum Advisors LLC, a Scottsdale development firm that has been quietly shaping the Airpark for 35 years. Its founder, Jim Riggs, has had his eye on this particular parcel for years, and he is now in escrow on the land with a rezoning application submitted to the city.
For anyone who follows North Scottsdale real estate, this is worth watching. It says a lot about how demand in this market is expanding beyond homes and into highly specialized, high value real estate categories.
What’s Planned for the Site
The project sits on 3.5 acres just off Loop 101, in a corner of the Airpark known for its mix of industrial, flex office, and specialty uses. According to plans submitted to the city, the development will include:
- 32 private, customizable garage condos
- Three available sizes: 1,300, 1,500, and 1,900 square feet
- Three separate buildings, each suite able to store 5 to 6 vehicles
- 22-foot clear ceiling heights
- 5-ton HVAC systems
- Smart-enabled automatic overhead doors
- 24/7 gated access with surveillance
- 200-amp electrical service with water and sewer stub-outs
- Optional mezzanines on all floor plans
Owners will also have access to a shared clubhouse with a kitchen, restrooms, showers, and event space, and can work with Garaza Design, a luxury garage design and installation company, to build out their individual suites.
Reservations are already being accepted. Riggs said construction is expected to begin in December 2026, with completion targeted for the third quarter of 2027.
Why the Scottsdale Airpark Makes Sense for This
Location matters just as much as the concept here. The site sits close to WestWorld of Scottsdale, home of the Barrett-Jackson collector car auction, one of the largest events of its kind in the country and a magnet for serious car buyers and enthusiasts each January. The 2027 event is scheduled for January 23 through 27.
The parcel is also just south of Mack Innovation Park, a 124-acre industrial and flex office campus in the Airpark. That project recently landed Rivian Automotive, which received city approval in July to open a service and repair facility there. Between Barrett-Jackson down the road and a growing automotive presence nearby, the Airpark is quickly becoming a hub for car culture in North Scottsdale, not just an office and industrial corridor.
Riggs described the development’s intent simply: a quiet, safe place to store your car, and other things too.
The project narrative submitted to the city also emphasizes that this is meant to be a low impact neighbor to surrounding residential areas, with limited traffic, no public access, and minimal day to day activity.
Part of a Bigger Trend in Scottsdale
Elite Garages Scottsdale is not the only project of its kind in the pipeline. Finish Line Auto Club, another luxury car storage concept, is planned for a country club style facility at the former Fender Musical Instruments Corp. headquarters in Scottsdale.
Two separate car collector storage developments moving forward in the same city, in the same general window of time, is a signal. It reflects the depth of car collecting culture here, tied closely to events like Barrett-Jackson, and it reflects a broader pattern in North Scottsdale real estate: buyers with significant assets are looking for specialized spaces, not just larger homes.
What’s Next for the Project
Riggs’ rezoning application is currently under review by city staff before it moves to the Planning Commission and then the Scottsdale City Council. Platinum Advisors, which typically completes about five projects in the Airpark each year, is working the deal alongside Tonianne Strohkirch, vice president of real estate, and Ryan Riggs, sales and acquisitions manager.
